Gundagai Adelong Junior Rugby League was established in 2005, when the two towns of Gundagai and Adelong merged to ensure the continuation of the game we all love in two smaller towns. We started with just 9 teams from Under 7s to Under 15s in the new Group 9 JRL structure & over the years we have welcomed the Girls League Tag teams in various age groups, as well as Girls Tackle.

This year (2025), we are fielding 18 teams out of a possible 19 in the Group 9 JRL Northern Pool, which is a testament to the original committee getting the club started. It really has become a family sport so all the kids can play for the one club. 

​

Over the years, we have had some fantastic committee members & without their effort & guidance, the club would not be where it is today.  Right from the very start of our club, lead by Steven Luff & Ray (Butch) Lucas, it has been about making sure kids from both Adelong and Gundagai have the opportunity to play for their town in Junior Rugby League. The current committee continues with this concept, as we incorporate both towns in our home games and training.

 

We continue to contribute to upgrading the facilities at both home grounds, ensuring the future Tigers have great spaces to play.

Today, we cater for all ages from 4* to 16 with a combination of Rugby League and League Tag. (*Must be turning 5 in current year).

As of 2025, we are happy to announce we have even more playing options, especially for those girls dreaming of being the next NRLW Star, with Girls Tackle Teams for Under 12s (Development), Under 14s (Competitive) and Under 16s (Competitive).

​

Our U6s are in the development stage which is introducing them slowly into Rugby League by way of "tag", whilst our U7s are participating in the new "Tackle Ready Program". This has been designed to properly introduce them to Rugby League, safely and effectively. Once they have completed 6 weeks of the program they then move into the tackling phase (from Round 7).

All non-competitive teams (from Under 6s to Under 12s) are open to all genders. Our League Tag Teams are set up with dual ages, from Under 8s to Under 16s. Boys only Tackle is from Under 13s up to Under 16s (as at 2025).​
